Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank joined thousands of women globally in celebrating International Women’s Day #IWD2024 from 7 to 8 March, 2024.
The celebrations officially launched by the Acting Managing Director of TADB, Mr. David Nghambi, on the 7th March at TADB headquarters.
In his opening remarks Mr. David, acknowledge the role & efforts of women in adding value and growth to the bank and life in general as well as cut the cake to mark the celebrations.
The theme of this year ‘Invest in women: Accelerate Progress’ #CountHerIn
The commemoration was graced by special guest speakers to empower and raise awareness on gender roles, work-life-balance, investment, challenges in the corporate world, inspirations & life in general on the opening day.
These guest speakers are Dr. Assumpter Mshama TADB Board Member & Retired Senior PublIc servant, member of the Parliament & District Commissioner at Wanging’ombe and Kibaha district and Prudence Masako TADB Board Member & Country Director at CARE Tanzania who had a special session with TADB Women staff as well as Dr. Ellie V.D Waminian Specialized in philosophy & theological education who conducted his session with both female and male staffs.
While on the 8th of March TADB female staff visits aggro-processing factory of one of the TADB beneficiary.
They also had the opportunity to learn about the journey of the owner of the factory Viktoria Gombomba where she explained the various challenges she encountered from the opening of the factory until now.
They also had a chance to experience the stages of flour production and storage.
Hope Super Sembe is a flour factory owned by TADB loan beneficiary Victoria Gombomba for factory expansion, modern machinery and warehouse construction.
