Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) through the Tanzania Inclusive Processor – Producer Partnerships (TI3P) in Dairy Project, joined forces with the Tanzania Dairy Board and stakeholders in the dairy sector to commemorate the National Milk Week in Mwanza.
The commemoration, with the theme “Drink Safe Milk for Better Health and Sustainable Economy,” was launched by the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Hon. Said Mtanda, on May 29, 2024, and will be concluded on the World Milk Day, 1 June, 2024.
Mwanza Regional Commissioner Hon. Said Mtanda received a briefing on the progress of the Tanzania Inclusive Processor – Producer Partnerships (TI3P) in the Dairy Project from the Acting Director of Planning, Advisory and Cooperate Affairs from TADB, Mr. Mkani Waziri at the launching of the Milk Week on May 29, 2024, Furahisha Grounds – Ilemela – Mwanza.
✅️ In his remarks, Hon. Mtanda recognised TADB as a government financial institution mandated to transform agriculture in the country from subsistence to commercial agriculture, including livestock and fisheries.
✅️ The Regional Commissioner also acknowledged the progress of implementing the Processor – Producer Partnerships (TI3P) in Dairy Project under TADB.
✅️ Among other things, Hon. Mtanda urged TADB to continue reaching out to small-scale dairy farmers, especially in the Mwanza region, with affordable loans to enable them to become economically empowered.
